The 3rd Yeditepe Biennial is Near: A Conversation with Curator Furkan Türkyılmaz on the Biennial

The theme of this year's Yeditepe Biennial, ‘Where There is Shadow, There must be Light’ invites art lovers to a meaningful journey of thought. The biennial's different venues and meaningful contents come to life with the original interpretations of curator Furkan Türkyılmaz.

Yeditepe Biennial, one of the most important events of the art world, welcomes art lovers this year with the theme ‘Where There is Shadow, There must be Light’. Organised under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye in cooperation with the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation (KTSV) and Fatih Municipality, the biennial aims to build a bridge between traditional and modern art.

In the interview with curator Furkan Türkyılmaz, the differences of the biennial from other events and this year's theme were discussed. Mr. Türkyılmaz emphasised that the biennial aims to establish a link between cultural heritage and contemporary art and expressed the meaning of the theme for humanity.

Within the scope of the event, special venues that integrate with the historical texture of Fatih will meet with works from different disciplines of art. Mr. Türkyılmaz stated that each of these venues offers a story in line with the theme. The 3rd Yeditepe Biennial invites art lovers to a journey full of history, aesthetics and meaning.
