While the 3rd Yeditepe Biennial preparations were in full swing, the biennial team made inspections for the arrangements in the Nuruosmaniye Mosque Cellar. The works are planned in accordance with the historical texture of the place.
Preparations for the Yeditepe Biennial, organised for the third time this year in Istanbul, continue at an intense pace. The Biennial team continues to work meticulously at the historical sites where the events will take place. The team's stop on today's inspection trip was the Nuruosmaniye Mosque Cellar, one of the important historical buildings of Istanbul. This space is organised to host various artworks throughout the biennial.
The historical texture and architectural features of Nuruosmaniye Mosque are evaluated in accordance with the spirit of the biennial. The biennial team carried out on-site inspections in order to preserve the existing architecture of the cellar and make it suitable for the exhibition of artworks. Details such as the physical conditions, lighting facilities and acoustic structure of the cellar were carefully reviewed. In line with the Biennial's aim of bringing together artistic activities and Istanbul's historical sites, similar inspections will continue in other venues. In this context, it is planned to organise similar inspection trips to other historical sites of Istanbul in the coming days and to complete the preparations for the biennial rapidly. The Nuruosmaniye Mosque Cellar will be an important focal point of the art world during the biennial.
