F. Hande Topbaş was born in Istanbul in 1971. She shaped her life as a servant, son, wife, mother, sister, friend, writer and illumination artist. Istanbul became the centre of her life. She met the colours on her mother's canvases, the fairy tales told by her grandmother and her father's suitcase waiting to be opened inspired her dreams. She loved pencils and drawing. She could not give up colours, but after Kadıköy İmam Hatip High School, she studied behavioural sciences at Newport University. She fell in love with the art of illumination, where nature is stylised with patterns and symmetry is intertwined.

At the age of twelve, she met Nilüfer Kurfeyz during a summer holiday. The few lessons she took were engraved in her mind and ten years later, she started illumination training in Nilüfer Hoca's course. Then she started to work on miniature arts on Gunpowder Marbling. She never put down the brush or the pen, she always maintained her passion for art.
