Merve K. Arslan

She was born in 1999 in Germany. She graduated from Istanbul University with a degree in German Language & Literature and Psychology. With her first short film, she was awarded the first prize at Uludağ Short Film Festival. She won first prize in the competition organised by the DAAD with her short story "Lila wie...". She worked as an art director in short films. Today, she works as an amateur in painting with various mediums and techniques. She is currently writing her master thesis titled "The Time of Illness: The Phenomenology of Time in Thomas Mann's "The Magic Mountain" (“Hastalığın Zamanı: Thomas Mann'ın “Büyülü Dağ” Eserinde Zaman Fenomenolojisi”) and works as a director, screenwriter and art director in various film projects.
