Sabahat Palabıyık

In 1991, she received her illumination ijazah (authorisation) from Topkapı Palace Embroidery Workshop (Nakışhane). She continued her education for two more years in the workshops of her teachers Mamure Öz and Semih İrteş. She received miniature art training from Nilgün Gencer for three years.

In 2013, with her interest in the Bosphorus, her book "Bosphorus with Miniatures from Past to Present", ("Geçmişten Günümüze Minyatürlerle Boğaziçi") which includes her original works on the Bosphorus, was published. Her works were also included in the "Masters of Today" ("Bugünün Ustaları") books published within the scope of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture.

She opened 15 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. She represented Türkiye in illumination and miniature in Hong Kong, London, New York and Malta Island.
