Born in 1989 in Istanbul, Seval Şen graduated from Atatürk University, Department of Theology and Child Development. She started her illumination studies with Gözde Kıyıcı at ISMEK in 2009. In 2013, she received illumination training from Yonca Bacak and basic art training from Savaş Çevik at ISMEK Bağlarbaşı Turkish Islamic Arts Specialisation Centre.

She continued to take illumination lessons from Serap Bostancı between 2014-2024. In 2018, she completed Topkapı Palace Traditional Turkish Decorative Arts course of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and received a certificate. The artist took part in many exhibitions with her works.

Seval Şen, who continues her master's degree at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Illumination Branch, continues her commitment to traditional arts with her academic and artistic works.
