Born in 1985 in Rotterdam, Sümeyra Evsen graduated in Pedagogy and Classroom Teaching. Since 2007, she has been working as a teacher, pedagogue and PBS specialist.
Since 2005, Sümeyra Evsen, who has been interested in Traditional Turkish Arts since 2005, learnt miniature art in 2017 and started her studies in this field. She travelled from Rotterdam to Istanbul several times a year to learn the art of miniature painting and received training from the artist Leyla Kara.
In her works, the grey sky, clouds and seas reflecting the history and climate of the Netherlands stand out. The artist, who works mainly on architecture, reflects the story and spirit of the city she lives in her works by being faithful to the details of traditional miniature art.
Sümeyra Evsen participated in various group exhibitions and took part in the second Yeditepe Biennial with a miniature work. She held her first solo exhibition at the Laurens Church in Rotterdam, where she frequently exhibited her works. Her second solo exhibition, "Heritage," was organised as an exhibition highlighting cultural heritage in the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
The artist, who gave miniature training in the Netherlands, continues her art studies in Rotterdam.
