Tuba Balcıoğlu Peşteli

She was born in 1984 in Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir. The artist, who graduated from the Department of Sociology, stepped into the art of paper marbling in 2003 with workshops in Eskişehir, Kütahya and Bursa. In 2011, she received her ijazah (authorisation) for paper marbling from Paper Marbling Artist A. Mahmut Peşteli, whom she met and benefited from her aesthetic tastes since 2008.

In 2009, she won the performance award with her work "Gala Flower" ("Gala Çiçeği") in the 15th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition organised by the Ministry of Culture. In 2010, she received an exhibition award in the "Erguvan" themed competition of the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation and in 2011 she received an exhibition award with her "Japanese Rose" work in the 16th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition. In addition to group exhibitions in Istanbul, Eskişehir and Ankara, she represented her art in various organisations in Türkiye and abroad and opened three solo exhibitions in Eskişehir, Istanbul and Sakarya.
