Tuğba Banu Oktay

She was born in 1996 in Istanbul. During her high school years, she attended various courses in painting, graphics and photography. She won prizes in painting competitions in 2014-2015. In 2015, she was admitted with full scholarship to Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation Vakıf Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts. At the university, she took courses from Dr. Faculty Member Mustafa Çelebi in the field of illumination and from Lecturer Taner Alakuş in the field of miniature. In the 2018/2019 academic year, she graduated from the illumination department with a high honour certificate and completed her formation education in painting teaching in the same year.

 

Between 2020-2023, she participated in various exhibitions in Türkiye and abroad. In 2021-2024, she worked as an administrative officer at Beykoz Municipality Baruthane Art Centre and taught miniature, illustration and painting as an instructor in BEYSEM courses. The artist is currently working as an instructor at Taner Alakuş Miniature Workshop and Çamlıca Mosque Mustafa Çelebi Art Workshop.
