Originally from Trabzon Of, the artist was born in Berlin in 1974. After completing his primary education in Germany, he settled in Istanbul and received his hafiz certificate at Yeşil Mosque Quran Course. He graduated from Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Theology Associate Degree Programme. 

He successfully completed the illumination course organised by the Ministry of Culture. He learnt the thuluth and naskh scripts from Calligrapher Ali Selçuk Erkurt and received his ijazah (authorisation). Then, he received training from Calligrapher Mehmet Özçay and Calligrapher Osman Özçay and improved himself. He also learnt the Taliq script style from Calligrapher Mustafa Parıldar. 

The artist has participated in many national and international exhibitions.
