Nuri Özçelik

Nuri Özçelik was born in 1986 in Eskişehir. After graduating from Eskişehir Anatolian Fine Arts High School in 2004, he graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, Major Art of Painting in 2008 in the workshop of Prof. İsmail Özgür Soğancı. In 2013, he completed his master's degree at Süleyman Demirel University, Institute of Fine Arts, with a thesis entitled "Researches and Applications for the Transfer of Urban Texture and Views to the Pictorial Plane" ("Kent Dokusu ve Görünümlerinin Resimsel Düzleme Aktarımına Yönelik Araştırmalar ve Uygulamalar"), prepared under the supervision of Prof. Olcay Ataseven. In 2019, he completed his proficiency in art education at Anadolu University Institute of Fine Arts with his thesis on "City Image in Contemporary Turkish Painting from 1980 to the Present" ("1980’den Günümüze Çağdaş Türk Resminde Kent İmgesi") under the supervision of Prof. Rıdvan Coşkun.

The artist has opened three solo exhibitions and participated in more than thirty group and competitive exhibitions in cities such as Istanbul, Eskişehir, Antalya, Izmir, London. Özçelik, who has been working as a lecturer at the Ministry of National Education and various universities, has been working as a Dr. Faculty Member at Istanbul Topkapı University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Department of Painting since 2021. Özçelik, who deals with the effects of urban life on human nature in his art, continues to work in his studio in Istanbul.
